if you met your DH online, did you get a good vibe from the first photo?

Obviously not talking about the stunned animals/ half naked/ stag do photos, but just the photos of ordinary looking men.

How are you supposed to know?!

I met my husband in online almost 9 years ago. His photo was very normal, I didn’t think he was the most gorgeous man I’d ever seen or indeed the most hideous! What had made me know I had to meet him was the email/text conversations we had had...to this day he can’t believe I wasn’t put off by his talk of tea towel revolutions!

Similar I suppose, he hadn't picked the 'best' photos for his profile but actually they showed his personality which is what I fell for in the end and showed that he wasn't a poser which I would hate. He was much more handsome in person and we just got on from day one

My DP had just a normal selection of photos. None of him in Ibiza covered in glow paint, none with a sedated tiger, no bathroom selfies, no pics with 10 girls in it

Was much more impressed by his chat though

Yes, I absolutely did. I thought he was attractive but it was the normal ness/facial expressions/general vibe I got that attracted me the most, and it turned out to fit very well to what he’s like in real life.

Oh my life. My DHs photos were shocking (and I told him so on our first date a couple of wines in). He made me laugh in his message though and was MUCH cuter in real life so winner winner!

I had a feeling. I was doing A LOT of OLD at the time, meeting loads of guys for coffee after a few emails. But i made a special effort with him - chose a nice indie place for coffee instead of Costa; stressed about what to wear, etc.

We had a great first date and then a dreadful second date. Thankfully we attempted a third date!

Yes. He was smiling and holding a cake! Grin

I met my man online however not on a dating site. We had to converse through email about work for about 4 months.
Then on a girls day out drinking I got chatting to this handsome stranger... who I’d been chatting to for months through a work email.
FWIW the ‘work’ emails should have only lasted a matter of days but we continued chatting. Had no clue what he looked like, how old he was etc.
He’s still to this day the most gorgeous man I’ve ever laid eyes on.

Prisonbreak that sounds like a movie :)

I want to be attracted to someone but I know personality is really part of that too.

Christ, it's so hard I'm coming around to the idea of arranged marriage!

I know it’s cliche but don’t look for it. Let it find you
