Stroppy nearly 11 year old boy

Can you please settle this slight disagreement between me and dh.

Nearly 11 year old ds2 is going through a bit of stroppy phase. Slamming doors, moaning at the unfairness of his life etc etc. We're dealing with it and it's fine but dh thinks he is going through puberty early. I think it's just a normal phase like the terrible twos. Ds1 (aged 12) has asd and hasn't had a stroppy phase yet so I'm not really sure what's normal for his age. Also I haven't got any brothers so my knowledge of boys puberty is sketchy at best. Ds2 isn't showing any other signs apart from a bit of a crush on one of the girls in his class. He's about average height I think (I'm 5 foot 2 and the top of his head is about level with the bottom of my nose). Is it even early if he is going through puberty now?

Sorry for the drip feed but should add that ds2 is physically disabled which is probably causing at least part of his frustrations. He would probably like to go out with his friends to the park etc but that can't happen until he is a lot older unfortunately.

I have an 11 year old girl who definitely has hormonal strops. Lots of crying and sometimes screaming. Great fun!

My DS1 is nearly 12 and is just starting to show signs of starting puberty and stroppiness but some of his friend's have definitely hit puberty already and I would say anything from 11 onwards it's to be expected.
