Forgot to send children's birth certificate with passport application

I know I'm so bloody stupid! I forgot to send birth certificates with my DC's first passport application form, has anyone else done this? Please tell me I can just send them in without loads of hassle? Google isn't really helping much.

They'll just send it all back for you to add the information you haven't sent.

I did the forms online so everything is correct. I just forgot to post the BC with the counter signature thabks gamerchick, that's a relief.

I did this! I received a letter about 3 days later saying I hadn't included the birth certificate, with a reference number to send along with it. It took about 2 weeks for my daughter's first passport altogether so didn't delay it either.
