Moving in with a partner

Just helped a friend move in with a partner she’s been with for what I feel is not long (6 months) but I’m a mad old bat who likes living without men

Just curious as to how quick/slow others took it

I moved in with my boyfriend (now husband) after 5 months. I did everything mumsnet would be screaming at me not to! Quit my job and got a new one in his town (also my old town). Ended my tenancy. Went travelling for a few month late whilst broke first. Moved into his room in the two bed flat he shared. And then we moved in to our own place 3 months after that when his tenancy was up.

But we've been together for nearly 5 years now, and we have a 14 month old.

Worked out well for me!

Moved in after a year of essentially living together. But was writing up my PhD so had it gone belly up I would simply have gone home as has been originally planned. Four happy years there and 14 years later married with DC. I also reckoned if it was going to go pear shaped it would have done so sooner if we were living together.

6 months for us too. Was a lodger somewhere else and spent a lot of time at my boyfriends anyway. 5 years, an engagement and a baby later, we're very happy

(Now) DH (then BF) and I moved in together after about 8 months.

Breaking the mould of PPs - moved in with OH after 2.5 years together, married 2 years after that. We'd both had tough relationships/breakups previously and needed plenty of our own space (and still do! )

DP was more or less living in my house from about a month in, he gave up his flat after about eight months. Eleven years later we have a joint place and are very happy.

Rented a house together at 6 months. He'd been spending all his time at my home until then. 12 years on - very happy!

I've been with my dp for 18 months and we have absolutely no desire to live together. It's my first post divorce relationship so I've already been there and done it on that front and have 2 dc.

I'm not sure we'll ever live together as I live my own space too much. I'm with you op.

Very quick for us. A few months but we're now a decade and 3 kids down the line.

I moved in with my boyfriend within 2 months lol still living together and going strong nearly 2 years on.

Met in the August, talked about living together in the November, moved in together in the February...been together 9 years, married with 2 kids now
