Best online piano tutorials

DD(5) is showing an interest in learning the piano. I think she's a bit young to start the endless piano-practice battle that I remember from my childhood, and I don't want that to turn her off her interest in the instrument, when if I waited a year or two, she might be ready and love it. We're already having a bit of a battle to get her to do school reading books in the evenings and just can't face adding to the conflict! In addition, piano lessons are going to cost about 1200 pounds per annum in our rather expensive area of the South East, and if she's too young to get much out of it yet, I'd rather save the money and let her do more lessons when she's older and can benefit from them.

I wondered whether anyone had used any online tutorials for young children, as then she could dip in and out of those at times when she was interested, rather than viewing it as a chore?

Thanks very much.

Do you play? We're in the same situation and printed out some free easy kids music, numbered fingers. I also got a book of easy Disney songs as I figured she would be more likely to play something she knows. She practices with DH (I can't play) after her bath. Anything to push back bed time a bit Grin

Ah, that's a good idea - she'd probably love to learn some Disney songs. Thanks!

Also some easy tunes she can sing along to. She started around Christmas so Jingle bells, twinkle twinkle etc. Sent you a link by pm because I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here.
