SIM card question

If I put a sim into a secondhand phone do I need to wipe the phone?

DH is giving DS1 his old phone but he doesn't want to wipe it / restore factory settings (I'm not really sure why).

Will this work?! Will the new number for DS's sim work?

It's an Apple phone.

Not everything is stored on the sim so I'd swap the sim and see what information is still stored on the phone before handing it over. There may be info on the phone that your dh doesn't want your ds to have

when u put a new sim into a iphone everything stays as it is apart from the phone number so all the apps that already are on there will still be there and still linked to the itunes account
