Please can you advise if this is odd?
I went for an initial assessment at fertility clinic with my husband. We are both farmers so we do carry I couple of extra pounds, but don’t think anything of 25kg being thrown on our backs.
My BMI was 32 which yes ok I do enjoy my glass of wine and a bar of chocolate (show condition)
The consultant that we saw went through the usual questions but excused herself 3 times to ask the consultant quite basic questions such as can I take clomid.
The weight topic came up and she advised to go on a vegan diet, 500 calories a day and eat cuppa soups.
Call me old fashioned but these have no nutritional value and I told her I cook from scratch every day.
She then told me to buy some folic acid sachets at £40 off the internet as the nhs fo not supply them. I have previously come from a abusive family situation where emotional abuse over food was used. However no safeguarding over the topic was mentioned.
I came away upset and my husband furious- is this the general procedure??
