How can this happen? I thought they aren't allowed to leave a person stateless? Not that I'm disagreeing, I'm just wondering how they managed it.

For all we know, the other 300 fighters didn’t have dual nationality like her and therefore couldn’t be stripped of their citizenship.

MillytantForceit · 19/02/2019 19:46

....And if this one passes, we can send Boris Johnson back to Turkey.

(Vote SAJID!)

stairway · 19/02/2019 19:46

She is more dangerous out there then back here. She have no choice but to go back to the extremists. She might end up like the white widow.

KingHenrysCodpiece · 19/02/2019 19:47

This is NOT a triumph for our democracy. I do not feel that we should be compromising our standand of human rights which include giving the most despicable british citizen a fair trial.

The HS arbitrarily just revoking someone's citizenship to pander to popular opinion sets a dangerous precedent. If its based on merit why then were other fighters allowed to return? Those that actually fought? Killed?

It's knee jerk justice. Its justice by the crowd. We ought to not give ground on our core constitutional beliefs or these people ultimately win.

Sajid Javid is working overtime to prove he's a muslim capable of being 'tough' on muslims. I expect him to think about wider repercussions of decisions like this, not be swayed by mob thinking.

Missingstreetlife · 19/02/2019 19:47

Exactly, now she'll be wandering about ripe for getting into more trouble. Why not let her come back and stand trial if they can charge her. Sorry to agree with trump, that's a first!

Saiid javid is a cunt

CameliaCamelia · 19/02/2019 19:48

trout she's not getting off Scot free..... right now she will be regretting every single day since she got on that plane. She will be crying herself to sleep

She will be thinking of what she's lost and missed out on.... and hating that camp. Bet she dreams of macdonalds!

But look at those faces of the youngsters killed at Manchester arena.... they have missed all that too. Because of her 'cause'

SoupDragon · 19/02/2019 19:48

MN is the only place lots of things happen that don't seem to happen in real life

You realise that the people on MN are actually people in Real life too?

Hammondisback · 19/02/2019 19:49

I believe that she chose her citizenship when she chose to support IS in Syria.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 19/02/2019 19:49

Why only now are we told she’s dual citizen?

Ribbonsonabox · 19/02/2019 19:50

This really frightens me because surely the government should not have the power to do this?

Caselgarcia · 19/02/2019 19:50

I don't think she should be allowed back, she only wants to come back now because she's stuck in a Kurdish controlled detention camp. If ISIS still controlled territory in Syria she would still be living there. She's had 4 years of living there, saw 2 children die, did she want to come home during this time? No. It's only because she's stuck in a detention camp that she now wants to come home. If ISIS were to re-emerge in Libya or Somalia, would she be off there I wonder.

Why does this frighten you Ribbons?

Speakeasy22 · 19/02/2019 19:52

Good decision and glad the UK government acted swiftly.

Wildcate · 19/02/2019 19:53

This really frightens me because surely the government should not have the power to do this

Why? Are you planning to run off, join a terrorist front then try to come back in a few years?

ILoveCrunchyAutumnLeaves · 19/02/2019 19:53

She waa born in bangladesh and will have dual nationality.

It did mention her dual nationality on the news but got overlooked to debate the other issues of the story.

SilviaSalmon · 19/02/2019 19:54

I am very relieved.

Mistigri · 19/02/2019 19:55

If this British-raised and radicalised teenager is too dangerous to allow back into Britain, why do you think it's OK to put Syrians or Bangladeshis in danger?

What is it about Syrians and Bangladeshis that make them expendable? Could it, just maybe, be the colour of their skin?

Cora1942 · 19/02/2019 19:55

She is a traitor and has commited treason. The punishment for this should be severe. If you dont respect our beautiful country you have no right to be here.

AlaskanOilBaron · 19/02/2019 19:56

She is actually a Bangladeshi mess. If her parents or one parent was from there, they probably reared her in that culture, not ours.

I don't really see this as an example of homegrown terrorism, unless you're willing to accept that her religious fanatic parents had no influence on shaping her Isis inclinations.

sagradafamiliar · 19/02/2019 19:56

Shocking and sinister. This country really is going to shit under this farce of a government. Using a brainwashed, easily led child who has now ruined her life and the lives of her children because of abusive radicalisers, as some sort of pawn to 'win over' the pubic and deflect from the shit show that is Brexit is NOT ok in my eyes.
