How can this happen? I thought they aren't allowed to leave a person stateless? Not that I'm disagreeing, I'm just wondering how they managed it.

Which other citizenship does she have?

If she is as intelligent as people have been saying like she knew what she was getting into etc, as she was a bright girl why doesn’t she come across better in interviews? Why doesn’t she tell interviewers what they want to hear to get back here by sympathy

I'm wondering how far she could go in denouncing or renouncing her beliefs when she was in a camp filled with fellow ex-jihadi women some whom she doubtless knows and lived among and with a small child. I wondered why there was a woman in the first interview with her. The BBC reporter had to know she likely could not express sympathy for the Manchester victims in the position she was in. But it was great scoop though.

Then and again maybe she is really too far gone in the ideaology. We won't know now.

To use an example from this thread, I doubt the IRA spent a lot of time recruiting Muslim teenagers, selling them the idea of a True Cause and explaining how civilian deaths in their bombings were necessary to ‘the struggle.’ They targeted young catholics. If had been doing it in the age of social media I’m sure they would have figured out how to exploit it to get their message across to those who were the most susceptible to it.

Bishop Bangladeshi.

BishopBrennansArse · 19/02/2019 23:30

Has that actually been confirmed from an official source?

GlitterStick · 19/02/2019 23:32

Did she suddenly realise that 2 supposedly dead children were enough, did she not realise this newly pregnant with the 3rd - like - shit I need to get home now to save this baby?

How easy do you think it is to leave ISIS? I mean, really."Look Bob, I'm 17 now and I'm pregnant for the second time..and you know things aren't working. I'd like to go, that's cool right? "

Some things you just can't come back from, though! I mean, you're 15 and you do daft shit.
I used to be one, hell, I actually have one. Immature as anything at times. Does my head in.
There's a world of difference between a mistake of making a living of stealing groceries from supermarkets or getting knocked up in the local park after dark after a quick fumble to being exposed to extreme terrorist views as a child, thinking it's a normal thing to do and then showing no remorse.
There's just no coming back from that.
Actions have consequences, I always tell mine that and they certainly do in this case.
She's taken the most extreme route to play out what I always tell my kids - but they do. Have consequences that is.

DataBreachCentral · 19/02/2019 23:32

My daughter thinks its a ploy. They’ve stripped her of her citizenship to appease the people but it’s a foregone conclusion she’ll have it overturned on appeal.

I agree with your daughter @teaandgingercake

I think it's just stalling. Hot news at the moment and distracts from other issues. Pleases the masses. I think they are also hoping she'll be bumped off die in the refugee camp while the appeal drags on.

KingHenrysCodpiece · 19/02/2019 23:33

That should have said, other liberal Western countries, like Germany and the NL, are refusing to have their jihadists back

Yes, and they are a security risk, which is why Trump has said we ought to repatriate them and put them on trial.

cheesemongery · 19/02/2019 23:34

How easy do you think it is to leave ISIS? I mean, really.

She hasn't left, the ideology is still with her.

You think she's terrified of leaving Isis and terrified every day that the father of that boy will find her?

Yeah.. I'll just publicise my whereabouts globally.

I mean, really.

Surely we could try them all for treason? Then sling them in jail and forget about them. Pretty sure Treason, if found guilty of course, carries up to a whole life tariff.

cheesemongery · 19/02/2019 23:37

My daughter thinks its a ploy.

Your daughter is very wise and I agree with her. Tories will do anything at the moment to keep face and distract from the utter shitstorm they have created.

LanaorAna2 · 19/02/2019 23:38

IS only recruit intelligent women - they have a fondness for academically strong females whom they believe will breed bright males who can be educated as leaders for the cause.

As part of the recruitment campaign, IS promise the girls jobs as doctors and subsidised degrees which makes being raped non-stop or married to a teen with a week to live something of a surprise. IS do not tolerate education in women and murder anyone who speaks out, facts which somehow never makes it onto their cosy girls' only Whatsapp.

Men, education matters not so much - IS know cannon fodder doesn't need A' Levels.

Smellbellina · 19/02/2019 23:39

Really hope her and her young baby are allowed back soon

theDudesmummy · 19/02/2019 23:40

From way up thread but just to correct one thing: you can become naturalised as a British citizen under the age of 18. Both my stepdaughters were.

Saylav · 19/02/2019 23:42

I'm totally with the man on Sky News at the moment.

cheesemongery · 19/02/2019 23:42

How easy do you think it is to leave ISIS? I mean, really.

You've annoyed me now. Have you watched BBC4 Storyville about the war correspondent killed in Syria?

If so you'd realise that - no, it's not fucking easy to leave and also it's a lot fucking harder to reach the outside world and get media attention.

So you tell me how she got plastered globally as the girl who wants to come home. Why her and not thousands of others in need with their babies?

PreseaCombatir · 19/02/2019 23:44

Honestly though, why are people so convinced she hates IS secretly but is just scared of saying so?!? Isn’t that one of MNs favourite sayings ‘when someone shows you who they are, believe them!’
She doesn’t care who they kill, she’ll happily walk past the severed head of your children and not be fazed...

theDudesmummy · 19/02/2019 23:46

Who knows what the real story is, but she has come across as really remarkably stupid in the interviews, so if she is supposed to have been a bright girl, something must have happened to change that. PTSD? Drugs? She is being coached/used in some way?

Saylav · 19/02/2019 23:49

Who said she was bright? Any links?

TheresACatInMyLaundryBasket · 19/02/2019 23:50

Pretty sur the media reported all three were grade A students.
Of course, academically bright doesn't mean you have common sense or can articulate well.

ReflectentMonatomism · 19/02/2019 23:52

Pretty sur the media reported all three were grade A students

At a school where the head and most of the SLT were sacked for fiddling the results at around the same time. V

AlexaShutUp · 19/02/2019 23:52

I'm totally with the man on Sky News at the moment

Grin We were just talking about how intelligent he seemed!
