Can you block area codes on phones?

Keep getting spam calls on my mobile, mostly from South Sudan but other countries too. Had one waking me at 6.30 am yesterday. Use my phone as alarm. Could use something else but would prefer to have my phone on as have elderly parents.

I've been blocking numbers but they use different ones. I'd like to be able to block the country code to reduce the calls.

It rings once and then cuts off. Angry

If you have your phone on silent, the alarm should still ring.
Some phones allow you to nominate Noisy Contacts ie callers whose call will still ring when phone is on silent, you could set that for your parents

Ooh thanks! I'll look into that.

I've just googled a missed call I had on the way home from the school run. It was a South Sudan number too. That's a new one. I usually block them. I think if you put your phone on silent your alarm still works?

If you have an iPhone , go into settings then Do not disturb.

I allow calls from my ‘favourites’ when I’m on Do not disturb, which I set for 11pm to 7am. My ‘favourites’ are immediate family and the kids schools ( unlikely to phone me in the middle of the night ! ).

I have my Samsung on do not disturb at night. The alarm still sounds and I have about 5 people who can get through at anytime. That definitely works as dd woke me with a text at 4.30am last week.

Oh great thanks for the tips!

I've mostly had South Sudan with the Solomon Islands and Albania thrown in to keep it interesting. Hmm
