Is this a good idea for a party favour?

We're having a woodland/flower fairy themed party for dc2's 3rd birthday in June and I was thinking of sending the guests away with little kits to grow a sunflower or something similar as party favour.

I'm not sure though wether it's as great an idea as I think it is or wether all the parents are going to think I'm a complete pest?

Bit late to be planting seeds in June?
Maybe plant them yourself and give small plants?

I would think too that 3 year olds would prefer an actual flower than a grow your own kit. Maybe in a pot they could decorate during the party?

I think they would prefer sweet cones tbh.
