Chester Races - Packages

Friend has always wanted to go to Chester Races so AirBnB booked for 14 September but need help from any locals or regular visitors please.

Reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, I'm not sure if the hospitality packages are worth it (was looking at White Horse Garden package). Are we just better off spending the money on some boxes of wine and picnic food from supermarket and crashing on a blanket?

Anyone had any experience? Good or bad!

The hospitality packages are generally catered to a coporate market. I’d take your own food!

You can't take in your own alcohol at all any more. You can take picnic and chairs/ blanket onto the open course only - cheapest area, think tickets are around £12. It's the large grassy area furthest from the finish line. (fab if it's a sunny day. Not many 'dress up' on the open course but a few still do).

Do not go for the area one price up from this (can't remember the name right now - will look it up). It's a tiny concrete area that gets filled with plastic cups/ food wrappers.

It's the Dee Stand you definitely don't want to be in.

And when I say you can't take in alcohol, they will look through your bags you take in. But if you go to the effort of say, filling a juice carton with a bottle of wine, then who would know Wink

Thanks Guys. Disappointing you can't take alcohol in. Will review which package to do Smile
