First day at work after 3 years off

It's my first day at real grown up work today after being off for three years with my children.
I'm excited but very nervous at leaving them. Currently drinking tea to calm my nerves. Any tips?

Good luck, give it a week and it'll be like you've always been there, hopefully in a good way

Good luck OP and congratulations on your new job Grin
Just keep calm and try to remember everyone's names... the rest will all slot in to place in the next few weeks... months.
Enjoy this next chapter!

And don't be afraid to admit you've forgotten someones name. People get it

Good luck! Are you returning to the same job you left pre children? I started back a couple of months ago after nearly four years off and in some ways it is quite nice, am sure you will enjoy yourself after the initial walking through the door!

Good luck - hope they are all nice to you

I found that once you're back in its like you were never away.

It will be fine and you'll probably enjoy it too!

Thank you all Smile
It's a completely new job I was head hunted for, feel a bit of an imposter but I'm sure I'll pick it up quickly!

You'll be fine. I was concerned that I'd be missing my DC all day but I was so busy I didn't even think about them until lunch time!

Plus going to the toilet alone and drinking a coffee while it was still hot!

whiteroseredrose · 18/02/2019 07:15

Not drinking coffee IN the toilet BTW!!

If its like my work you’ll find yourself in a fairly large club of women with DC who adore those DC but are delighted to be at work...and to have a group where they can openly admit this...embrace having a work persona.
