As Iv came to bed my LG who is 1 was burning hot to the touch. Iv woke her up encouraged her to have a drink and some calpol. Took her temp with the in ear and got a reading of 40.2. Then the one under the arm read 39.8! How long should I give this calpol to work?

Do you have infant ibuprofen in the house?

Temp that high, if it isn’t coming down with Calpol in 45 mins, Id give a dose of ibuprofen too. Tbh ibuprofen is my first port of call here - works much better for fever IME.

40.2 is high, but don’t panic-DS can spike fevers that high for fun, and recently reached the horrifying heights of 41.6- and was absolutely 100% fine in himself (I ran with him in my arms to the local surgery, however in an absolute panic- all was absolutely fine, except the temp of course, turned out to be just a virus Blush)
