Hello - I have a budget of £1000 for a long weekend for a family of 4 for 3 nights - where should we go? DC are 17 and 15 and we live in the south west. Any suggestions welcome. TIA.

I wouldn’t go to Europe until we know what’s what. If it’s just for a long weekend, I’d probably stay quite close. How about Finlake in Devon? There’s a new heated indoor pool with flumes, bike hire, high ropes, archery, disc golf as well as a spa and restaurant.

See where you could fly to with easyjet we did Porto from Bristol cheap. Or Devon or Cornwall?

The Lake District is lovely at Easter.

I love the lakes but we spent a week there in August so fancy somewhere else this time!

I'd look for a last minute break to the Scillies but not expect to find anything in or out of budget.

Edinburgh is great for a city break, so if you can find the accomodation and flights(?) go for it. Or there is the train, which takes hours but depending on where you are in the south west there is a train from somewhere down there that goes all the way to Edinburgh.

We can fly from Bristol for £100 each return so think it’s s possibility.

I had been to the Scillies - beautiful! I think we went by helicopter and it was very expensive though!
