We (me, DH & 2 teens) are planning on going to Leeds and/or York over half term. We just need to sort hotels.

We’ve been to Leeds years ago and I remember that the shopping was good. We’ve also been to Harrogate and York and enjoyed them.

Please can you recommend things to do. We like shopping, eating out, walking etc.

Leeds for shopping - Trinity Centre, Victoria Quarter, Victoria Gate (John Lewis, Cos, & other Stories, Hilfiger, Joules, White Company).

Trinity Kitchen underneath the Trinity Centre has lots of places for Lunch.

Harrogate - Bettys for afternoon tea, also shopping, Valley Gardens for a stroll/nice ice cream,

York’s - hard to know where to start. Yorvik Centre, walk along some of the wall, the Cathederal, the Shambles, Cliffords Tower.

Can’t recommend restaurants as don’t eat out much but there are so so many good places in all 3 places so hopefully someone will be along to recommend.

Oops Briggate in Leeds too for shopping - Harvey Nicks, Schuh Office, Zara, Topshop, Debenhams. Victoria Gate and the pretty arcades leading off Briggate have the more upmarket stores such as LOccitane, Aspinall, White Company, Russell & Bromley, All Saints, Whistles, Jo Malone, Penhaligans. Trinity has places like Mango, Skechers, Next, Swarowski, Victoria’s Secret, Apple Store, Warehouse, Oasis.

Walks, somewhere like otley chevin, roundhay park, temple newsham or lotherton hall. The latter three also have animal or bird attractions on site. If you like history, there's a marked walking trail at Towton between lotherton and Tadcaster commentating a famous battle from the war of the roses.

There is Betty’s in leeds and york

They also have The Ivy restaurants too now
Mowers is great for shopping

York is good for touristy things like Jorvik Viking centre, dungeons, they have ghost walks although the one we did wasn’t great but there are a few

Leeds is great for shopping

Harrogate is smaller and there isn’t as much to do in my opinion but it is a lovely town where DH and I got married
