My turn to choose our next book. Any genre, any age, but has to be fairly short, as for various reasons we've got less time to read this one. Any ideas?

Hemingway: The Old Man and the Sea
Short easy read but you could talk about it forever.

Animal Farm - Orwell
The Book Shop - Penelope Fitzgerald
The Uncommon Reader - Alan Bennett

All around 100-150 pages.

If you don't fine Ian McEwan too irriating, quite of few of his books are (mercifully) short.

Holes

Eleanor Oliphant isn't short, but is a very quick, easy read.
