It looks like front post double crochet (US terms) to me. Also called a front post treble crochet (UK terms). Lots of videos on YouTube to show how to do it.

Look like like double crochet to me in a chunky yarn. Front post has a more ribbed effect.

I'd say double crochet

I’m say double crochet too as it looks the same stitch as this piece I’m working on. If you look at a tutorial online make sure it’s in UK terms as US crocheters call a different stitch double crochet.

@TheHatOfDoom where did you get your yarn from? It looks good quality! Thanks Smile

It's not front post, think it's double crochet

FuckYouChrisAndThatHorse · 16/02/2019 07:21

Could be half double crochet (American) or double crochet (American)

Lonecatwithkitten · 16/02/2019 07:25

Looks like half double crochet (hdc) American terms which is half treble crochet (htc) UK terms.
Each row sits straight on top of the previous row so it is not a post or single loop stitch.
There are the legs of the stitch and then a row or yarn and then the top layer of the stitch suggesting a half double/treble.

Half double crochet (us) ie half treble in Uk

TheHatOfDoom · 16/02/2019 08:02

@tired1245 It’s Stylecraft Special Chunky (which really isn’t what I’d call chunky). It’s cheap and good quality. This is the first time I’ve used the chunky but I use the Stylecraft Special DK.

I ordered it from Wool Warehouse but I’d expect most online yarn stores to have it.
