Shin Splints

God they're a pain. I have had pain in my right shin for over a week now. I was only doing yoga ffs.

It's like every time I try to do something to improve my core and help my back, my body just tells me no!

What can one do for shin splints and how long does it last?

Oh I had them years ago, never known pain like it! I just rested and they were gone in 3 weeks or so.

Oh I used to have that as a teenage when I played hockey! It was horrible. I had physio for it and the compartment syndrome I also had in my legs and had acupuncture, cupping, deep massages and strapping done.
It did help, but it didn't go away until I stopped playing hockey. I think it must have been the impact of running on the sand turf.

Magnesium oil sprayed onto the muscle can help, or magnesium salts in the bath. Making you sure you do lots of deep stretching of the muscle helps too.

Are you sure it’s shin splints? As that usually comes from weight bearing jumping type exercises, not yoga.
