Just that really. Going to Go Ape on Sunday and need somewhere for food afterwards - do you have any recommendations (or places to avoid) please?

Thank you.

www.elveden.com/eat-shop-stay
Not eaten at the inn but heard good things tea shop is excellent. If you want cheap and cheerful the Hungry Horse in Thetford is ok.

I've eaten at the inn that confused mentions and it was really lovely. It was a couple of years ago now, but that was the first place that sprang to mind for me too.

I had this exact same issue. Literally couldn't find anywhere nice to eat. All the pubs in about a 10 mile radius of the forest are sticky-floors and fosters on tap, no food type establishments. Certainly no nice Sunday roast places! We ended up in a McDonalds...

Also came on to mention the Inn at Elevdon, again a couple of years ago for me but lovely. Suggest booking.

Or The Bull Inn bullinn-bartonmills.com at Barton Mills, depending on which way you are heading home.

Yes the Elvedon Inn, it's lovely. Gets busy though so book.

Also was going to say Elveden Inn - but yes, if you're heading back on the A11 in London direction there are a few more places just off the road - the Walnut Tree in Worlington is good but you'd also probably have to book.

This is a notoriously bad area for decent restaurants. Would it be possible to go to Bury St Edmunds? Not too far away and a few good restaurants.

Having said that, Brown's café/restaurant is supposed to be good in Mundford which is near Thetford. You would have to book though. We have just turned up a couple of times on the weekend and not been able to get a table.
