I had my first child 9 months ago and really am desperate to get back to work after have been living of universal credit for the last 9 months. Being on benefits is actually awful plus the fact I miss working. I want to be able to provide for my son and myself as we need to private rent however I don’t earn enough whilst being on benefits. I mean i would love to go straight back to work but isn’t so simple I have no one to look after my child and nursery fees are bloody expensive I know as I used to work in one ! I heard that universal credit pays an amount towards nursery fees, I only want to put my child in nursery 3 days a week as I’ll find something for that amount of days a week it’s better than nothing. So my question is anyone on universal credit and got them to pay for their child’s nursery how does it work and do you have to find the nursery first?
