Ideas of ways to "lock" access to milk carton in fridge please

Live with a housemate who is hell bent on revenge for the tiniest things and want to prevent my milk being tampered with.

Anyone know of any bags with a lock etc. which I can use and where they sell them? Sorry of like a wine bag but with a double zip so a padlock can be put through them or something similar. Just for peace of mind

If you're really worried would a mini fridge in your room be an option? Much easier to lock a room than a bag I would think!

I've not seen anything like you describe but hope you find a solution soon (get rid of housemate?!)

You probably need to alert the police if she’s tampered with your food. Who the hell does that?!!

Going to ignore how odd that is....

Get a jug/cup/tall container which is wide enough to put in top of the milk curton. Drill a hole in either side, then out a dowel through one hole, through the handle of the milk jug and through the hole on the other side. The dowel needs to have holes through either end so you can stick a padlock through each end to stop it being pulled out. This prevents access without the padlock key.

I saw something once where an empty plastic milk bottle had the top cut off, then it was put upside on the new bottle and the two handles were somehow locked together, I just can't remember how they did that bit.

I’ve attached a photo, if you can’t see it then google “milk lock” and it’s the first image. I think I saw it on buzzfeed or Facebook years ago!

If you can't trust your housemate not to tamper with stuff in the fridge you need a different housemate. You can't live like that.

Put a load of laxatives in an opened carton.....and wait.

Babygrey7 · 14/02/2019 22:07

You need to move!

Mum2jenny · 14/02/2019 22:12

I think starzig has got the solution!

You can buy fridge lock boxes. I think they were originally designed for medicines that require refrigeration, not warring colleagues and housemates but that’s rather beside the point.

However would it not be easier to move? If they’ll tamper with your milk are you also keeping your shampoo under wraps in case they spike it with nair?
