Sports Direct - bought trainers online, picked up at store, trainers are damaged! Do I have to pay to return? GRRRR!

As it says really ... I checked for damage in the store and showed the member of staff but they said I had to post them back.
But the returns label isn't prepaid ... surely I don't have to pay to return damaged goods?

I wouldn't be remotely surprised if you do. Sports direct are absolute bastards when it comes to any kind of refund - even when they are the ones at fault. They don't give a fuck.

hidinginthenightgarden · 14/02/2019 20:16

Pretty sure you do!

I don't buy offline there anymore because their returns policy is shit!

JohnnyBee · 14/02/2019 20:22

yes, I think I've learned my lesson.
It's almost as if they didn't want you returning damaged goods!

Terrible store, I refuse to shop there anymore unless it's the only place with what we need and it's in stock never online.
I bet you do have to pay returns.

goingtotown · 14/02/2019 21:49

Sports Direct don’t refund they only exchange for more crap.

MrsPnut · 14/02/2019 21:52

Legally because they are damaged they do need to refund and also refund the cost of you returning them but you’ll probably have to fight for it.

ErictheGuineaPig · 14/02/2019 21:57

Yeah you will have to fight. We tried getting a refund for something that was clearly faulty and they absolutely would not have any of it - not even the manager. Despite it being a legal requirement that they offer a refund not just an exchange when their goods are faulty. We gave up and just don't shop there any more.

fiorentina · 14/02/2019 22:44

We had a faulty camping table that they were a right pain in the arse about refunding. Insisting on picking it up from home but not turning up twice when they said they would and being rude when I complained. Never again, they are awful.

DorothyZbornak · 14/02/2019 22:46

Oh God, Sports Direct. I wish you luck!

delilahbucket · 15/02/2019 07:54

Prepare to need to get in touch with trading standards on this one as Sports Direct really do think they are above the law. They do have to pay for the return and issue a full refund under the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013.
I stopped shopping there a long time ago because their products are crap and their service is even worse.
