Reasonably priced last minute mini break next week!

I want to take 13yo dd away somewhere for a few days next week - just me and her, DH is busy. Don't want to leave the UK but open to going just about anywhere in it, except perhaps the top bit of Scotland/most remote parts of Cornwall! Possibly Monday to Friday, but we can extend to the weekend if necessary.

Budget is flexible but don't want to have to spend a fortune. Can drive if needs be, but would prefer to relax and travel by public transport if possible. Don't mind self catered accommodation but somewhere with a nice breakfast provided would be lovely! I'm a bit of a wuss in the cold, so no camping in this weather!Grin

Don't really know what we want to do - something a bit different would be good, but I have no inspiration! We both love walking/nature, but also enjoy cities/history/museums etc. Also looked for last minute centreparcs deal but couldn't find anything.

Does anyone have any brilliant suggestions? I know most things will be booked up by now anyway, but still, I'm sure it can't be too late to find something!

Edinburgh? Bath?

Northumberland coast? Wild beaches, lindesfarne, country pubs etc.

I would second Northumberland. Absolutely stunning countryside/walking and a great range of National Trust properties to explore. Linhope Spout and the Breamish Valley are my favourites. You also have Newcastle fairly close by for city culture too if you wanted to spend a few days in each place.

I'd have a look on the national holidays website. You can just put dates in and leave the rest to the search results. They provide transport and often tickets for things or somewhere different each day. I have always loved our national holidays. Good prices too.

Or what about Glasgow? Tonnes to do, great shopping and this funky looking hotel:
