I’ve had an eBay parcel returned because the buyer failed to collect.

Should I do anything? Am I supposed to do anything? I posted it about three weeks ago.

You could wait and see if they realise. They may not be aware that delivery was attempted, or are busy and have forgotten.

However what you should do, morally, is to let them know and ask them to pay the postage again for you to re-send it and then send it by recorded post. Or offer a refund minus the postage you have paid. Your fees will be returned by Ebay if you refund. I think there is a way to do this to avoid a defect but take a photo of the returned packaging just in case.

If you keep the payment and the item, it makes you a thief.

Thanks. Yes, I was thinking I should do something, but I couldn’t seem to find what eBay requires me to do. I assumed there must be a procedure.

I’ll contact them and see what they’d prefer. It was only a couple of items of children’s clothes, nothing of value, which is maybe why they haven’t bothered to make contact or collect?

If they aren't familiar with Ebay or English may not be their first language they might not know what to do so sending them a message would be the best thing to do. I am not sure how you go about refunding minus the postage though, as I haven't done it. Lottie on the Ebay topic would probably be able to tell you (or if you are able to locate the Ebay Community which can be a challenge like most things on Ebay, you could ask on there).

Did you send it tracked? If so, refund minus your original postage and include a note explaining. ‘Parcel not collected, refunded minus postage fee’
If they leave negative feedback, call eBay and explain and ask them to remove it.

Well, I have contacted them but have not received a reply.
