This morning, I was sat on my couch watching tv when my phone rang.

It was a ladies voice who basically said

"Have you called me this morning? Who is this?"

I explained I hadn't called anyone and hadn't seen the number before and the lady abruptly ended the call.

Then, about half an hour ago my phone rang again and it was this same lady. She said she was very upset that I had called her 5 or 6 times and asked why I'm calling her. I explained that I haven't been calling anyone. She asked me my name which I stupidly gave her and then she said that if the phone calls don't stop she'll be contacting the police. I explained that I haven't called her but maybe my phone number has somehow been duped.

She said that hardly anyone has her mobile phone number and she seemed very unnerved by the whole thing. She was not happy that someone had got a hold of her phone number. I kept trying to politely get off the call but she kept going on & on.

Anyway I got off the call and called BT who's advice is to block her number from my phone which I have done but I'm somehow now feeling scared by the whole thing. I'm home alone and just feel a little freaked out by it.

Will blocking the contact be enough? Was giving her my name a really bad move?

Ignore it. You sought advice and followed it.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, she may have mental health issues or it was a technical glitch. I very much doubt the police will do anything even if she called them.

Okay... sounds like I'm being dramatic! Grin

I think it is just because of the way the lady was speaking to me. She didn't sound quite right, if that makes sense.
