Boob or bust, this can’t be right!

LouiseEH · 13/02/2019 22:15

I just measured myself using the boob or bust measurements and the recommended bra size is 34JJ!!!

I’m going to redo it when I get a chance as I’m pretty sure this isn’t right 😂

How has this method worked for you?

dementedpixie · 13/02/2019 22:34

What size are you wearing just now?

Littlefish · 13/02/2019 22:36

That's my size too.

LouiseEH · 13/02/2019 22:40

I don’t wear proper bras right now as I’m breastfeeding. I did it just out of curiosity really and I’m still laughing at the result 😂

I’m planning on treating myself to some new underwear soon though so I would like to buy the right size.

Where do you get your 34JJ bras?

I don't understand why you are laughing? You have given no comparative information so for all we know it could indeed be correct.

LouiseEH · 13/02/2019 22:43

I just don’t believe it. I’m not small chested but 34JJ seems WAY too big for me

Crushedvelvetcouch · 13/02/2019 22:43

Oh its shit.
Apparently I'm a 30G but in that size I have backfat and can hardly breathe.....

I'm sticking to my 36 DD. I'm sure both my boobs and respiratory system shall thank me.
All this seems to me to be vanity sizing for your tits Grin

MummyDummyNow · 13/02/2019 22:44

What is your regular bra size?

LouiseEH · 13/02/2019 22:49

Before I had DD I was wearing a 36D but it definitely didn’t fit right.

Now I wear Asda’s bralette things that I love, but really want something a bit more sexy

I used this and im 34JJ and i was shocked and tbh had a bit of a cry, i always knew i had a big bust but seeing that made me cry, but its what it is and the bras i have got fit very well and i feel better supported.

I got mine from brastop, apparently regular retailers dont go up that high, which also made me cry a bit more

DaisyDreaming · 14/02/2019 01:20

I bet you were in a much bigger back. So many people can’t believe their new size and yet end up with a proper fitting bra. You can look up its sister size

StarlightLady · 14/02/2019 01:32

You cannot be that large, be breast feeding and nor require the support of a bra.

babyworry2018 · 14/02/2019 03:00

I'm a 34j now I'm feeding, got a nice feeding bra from hot milk and it was a revelation.

As far as 'you can't be that size breastfeeding and not need a bra'- define need? I didn't have one that fit and still most often at home wander around in an oversized t shirt.

Before pregnancy using same method I was a 30g. I would really recommend buying a hot milk bra in that size and seeing how you get on. I don't have terrifyingly large boobs, I think the issue is people have an idea of what sizes are based on page 3 penetrating this idea that dds were huge and anything above that was ridiculous when in reality the difference between a 32dd and a 40dd is huge.

BarbaraofSevillle · 14/02/2019 08:57

Agree about page 3, and tabloids in general quoting ridiculously wrong sizes that skew people's thinking into what a certain size looks like.

They always say that the back size is 34 or 36, when it is very unlikely - most of the celebrities referred to are very slim, and often quite short, so their back size is more likely to be 26/28/30. I'm very much a medium sized woman (size 14/16, 5'7'') so I feel huge next to anyone petite and my back size is 32.

On small back size, even cup sizes F/G aren't really that big, I'm an F cup, and have medium sized breasts, so again, the average page 3 girl or slim and slightly busty celeb is going to be more like 28F for example, so why they always quote someone like Victoria Beckham as 34DD, I'll never know.

mistermagpie · 14/02/2019 09:01

What is this method? I wear a 34b currently which I know is too big, for reference I'm a size 8 with very small boobs. But when I've tried a 32b it's too tight... Confused

KatharinaRosalie · 14/02/2019 09:06

mister check Facebook for Boob or Bust. if 34B cup fits then yes 32B will be too tight - you need to go up in back size if you go down in cup. You probably need a 26-28 back with a lot bigger cup.

Furball · 14/02/2019 09:07

It gets complicated Mistermagpie as the cup size is relevant to the band size so a 32B is not the same cup as a 34b.

Measure yourself as per this guide - and believe in that measure! this guide here

dementedpixie · 14/02/2019 09:13

34B doesn't have the same cup as 32B, it is actually a bigger cup as cup size relates to back size. To get the same cup volume in a smaller back size means you need to go up in the cup e.g. 34B = 32C = 30D =
28DD (same cup volume in different back sizes)

museumum · 14/02/2019 09:16

The leaning forward thing does not work for me at all. I guess my boobs are too saggy? I would never want the cup size that I measure leaning forward so I just do it standing up then try a couple of different sizes thereabouts.

Bluelonerose · 14/02/2019 09:21

I'm kind of scared to try a new bra measuring trick I'm only a 36a so can't afford to go down any more Sad
But if this makes you bigger I'll give it a go.

DelurkingAJ · 14/02/2019 09:47

I’m a convert...was happily ticking along in 36C and the difference in being in a 32DD is amazing. I’ve had several old (female) friends squint at me sideways and ask what I’ve done to them then looked slightly surprised when I explain it’s just the bra size.

Livedandlearned · 14/02/2019 09:51

Convert here too, from 36C to 32DD. 30 felt really tight and 32 tight at first but now it's fine and I look so much better.

Livedandlearned · 14/02/2019 09:52

Oh I'm the same as DeLurking BlushI didn't copy I promise!

ChubbyMummy12 · 14/02/2019 09:56

I found it worked well, I was wearing a 38G and after measuring I now wear a 34HH and they fit perfect :)

Bombardier25966 · 14/02/2019 10:00

@museumum Same here, although I've adopted the term "lower in volume" rather than saggy Smile

The overall premise is good though, smaller back and better fitting cup. I'm no longer carrying the weight with the straps, which was really bad for my posture.

KatharinaRosalie · 14/02/2019 10:19

Bluelonerose true A cup means you are totally flat and don't have even an inch of difference between under and overbust measurements. This is actually quite rare.
