Anyone else having a tough day?

Oh my dear god, it's not even 1pm and I've had enough. Feel like getting in the car and driving off.

Eldest is moderately unwell and off school.

Youngest has not stopped screeching and crying and whinging all fucking morning.

She's had Calpol, she's had cuddles, she's been given milk, offered her favourite food, we've been outside, she's got her favourite tv programme on. Whinge whinge fucking whinge. She's just purposely broken something of mine as she's just being utterly hideous and I've completely lost my cool.

Please please someone talk me off the ledge.

DH away with work and I've unplugged the landline and turned phone onto do not disturb as for some reason this makes me feel better. Don't want to talk to him. Or anyone. Except you lot, obviously.

Aggghhhhhhh

I dont know if it will help but Ive had days like that. They are shite, but it gets easier as they get older.

What ages are your kids?

My youngest was an awful cranky whiney non sleeping baby/ toddler & some days just dragged on forever.

Mrsbclinton · 13/02/2019 13:11

sorry hit post too soon....
Make something nice for lunch, nice cuppa for yourself.

Not sure if you little one is too small but play doh used to keep my little fella amused for ages or try some paints.

If possible go into another room on your own for five minutes just to get some head space.

Sending good vibes your way x

Cross fingers for good luck. Then put heating up, top up calpol, dim lights, sit down on sofa together, put old familiar dvd on with sound slightly low. Sit in silence. Either they will fall asleep or you will.

If that fails, G&T and biscuits?

pinkcardi · 13/02/2019 13:13

Fucking shite isn't it.

Endless drudgery and I had the best of intentions for a lovely idyllic day of films and cuddles. Now I'm a raging, swearing, furious mess (mostly on the inside, honestly) and just trying to hold it all together before I explode.

I have biscuits, and gin.

Do you think SS would mind if I was tipsy by 3pm Wink

Youngest has the sorest sounding cough-viral so they said just Calpol and neurofen-this was on Monday and still the same. He's wrecked and not eating great. 6yo home from school and coughing after 4 days off school. I feel wrecked and fluey and want to just lie down and not get up so Flowers OP- hope it picks up for you

Have you survived the day? Or did you neck all the gin by 3pm and retire to the gutter Wink
