Magazine prizes... Anyone won?

Doing the puzzles in trashy magazines is one of my guilty pleasures. I always send the answers off online because, well, why not - but I wondered if anyone on MN had the same guilty past time and had ever actually won something from one of these, whether it was the puzzle entries or the magazine site's online click-to-win style prizes. Give me hope, trash mag puzzlers of MN! There must be some success stories out there

I entered a competition in a Waitrose magazine and won a 5 star holiday for two to Mauritius. It was absolutely fabulous. Keep doing them and fingers crossed.

Not magazine ones...but have won lots of prize draws
I won £1000 once in s daily mail competition that was just solving a puzzle and being first out of the hat
5 weeks later I won another £1000 in a similar competition in the same paper.
I had to ring and ask them for my prize, they thought they’d paid me. They couldn’t believe I’d been lucky twice in such a short space of time

Best prize was an out of the hat draw for two upper class virgin seats anywhere where they fly to. They wereworth £4,125 each about 28 years ago

I've never won anything, I've given up now. A friend of mine is one of those who keeps winning small prizes constantly. Magazine subscriptions, cat food, paintings etc. I've never known anyone lucky enough to win cash or something 'big'.

I do Take A Break have never won anything though. My MIL got me into it a year or so ago, hate the rest of the mag but like the puzzles.
I won £300 vouchers on Mumsnet on one of the sponsored threads, that was nice, no effort involved.

My auntie does the Take a Break ones and has one a few things over the years. Never the big holiday of mega cash but has had some smaller cash wins and the free prize draw things.

I don't do magazine comps but I've won loads doing online and facebook comps. My biggest win was a top of the range Miele washing machine and drier and a trip to Sydney to have my laundry room designed. It was worth over $10,000 AUD. I've also won loads of smaller stuff like festival tickets, an air fryer, weekends away, a hamper of Easter Eggs, designer shoes, heaps of cinema tickets etc. I'm a member of a competition website and when I put the effort in its pretty easy to win. Maybe its easier here in Oz as there are fewer people to enter though.

Brilliant! It's really made me smile to think of all of you who've won something you really enjoyed. I like doing the competitions for the fun of doing them, but sending them off and actually winning something would be a real bonus. Please keep your happy stories coming! I could do with a holiday to Mauritius right now...

I won a hairdryer years ago (in either Cosmo or Marie Claire, can't remember). I very rarely entered these types of competitions and it arrived months afterwards with no letter or note - I spent ages puzzling over where it came from!
