Is it any good on an A380?

The main difference seemed to be a couple of inches of extra legroom, and a better meal (included but you could upgrade in advance from standard economy anyway). On a long flight if you are tall and have the cash I'm sure it's nice but I didn't bother, £400 more wasn't worth it

Depends how long your flight is and who you are. My elderly mother definitely appreciated the additional comfort when we flew to China a couple of years ago. For myself if I’m on my own I probably wouldn’t bother, certainly not for anything under 10 hours.

No way. Premium Economy is not worth the extra cost BA at all. It is on Virgin. To get your upgrade money BA wise you need to fly Club.

It’s no different between BA and Virgin!

You’re slightly more comfortable. More leg room, wider seat and slightly more recline. However it’s not THAT much better than economy.

If you’re flight isn’t full and you tactically chose a seat where it isn’t likely the one next to you will be filed, that is better IMO.

Economy flights you just have to endure. It’s jot a fun experience. Just get on. Take additional food and water. Watch movies. Accept you probably won’t sleep. Get off.

Choose an economy seat upstairs in the A380 if you can. Quieter and quicker boarding etc.

Sukochicha · 12/02/2019 22:21

Oooh I don’t like the upstairs. Always totally full it seems because everyone wants to be up there.

Pennina · 12/02/2019 22:30

Yes for us. More comfortable, less cramped experience. It's also much quieter, less hectic and more relaxing. We arrive not feeling wrung out! I know not everyone has this view but we do find it worth while.

redredrobins · 13/02/2019 01:21

Yes it is worth it, more space etc. but also if economy is full you may be upgraded to club (business class) we have 3 times Smile

I don't agree that BA and Virgin are the same, but maybe I've flown different routes to the pp who compared them. I've flown the premium economy equivalent on Virgin (to the Caribbean) and it was definitely worth it - much wider seats and lots of legroom. Also seats in pairs rather than 3s so perfect for a couple. The seats were a bit like business class was 20 or 25 years ago. I agree BA doesn't look worth it - I haven't sat in the seats but I've seen the cabin and it still looks pretty cramped. We got a good deal flying business to Aus with BA a few years ago - cheaper than many airlines on that route because the seat configuration is less than perfect.
