sick to death of winter lurgies/bugs

Three families we all have at least one sick child at home over the weekend and now today had to pick DS up from school.

When I had the first two thirty odd years ago they never caught lurgies like this, had never heard of norovirus, impetigo, hand foot and mouth. Now it seems to be par for the course and the experts say builds up their immunity. Well I am bloody tired of this excuse, why is it so prevalent now when it was not then.

Sorry to hear your DS is poorly. I can completely empathise as it feels as though DS7 & DD1 have been constantly ill since September. It started when DS caught chicken pox, then DD got it. Since then it's been croup, hand, foot and mouth, chest infection, coughs, colds, earache etc. It seems endless, and it's exhausting for everyone.
I'm hoping that once spring is here we might get a break!
Hope your DS is feeling much better soon.

Thank you shuffle. You have it worse with two DC`s. I only have the one to worry about here. Although DS has caught a lot from his little nephews and nieces including hand foot and mouth.

My Adult DS daddy catches everything his children get, in the last year he has had hand foot and mouth, impetigo as well as colds and norovirus type bugs.

Hope you had a calmer night and that DS is feeling a little better today.

Hi
I’m in same boat , ds 11 had tonsillitis last week, had to take leave and ask family for help to cover off school.
Got him back to school Monday and yesterday school called to send him home as he’s rough again.
Lone parenting , his dad only does eow and does not think he has to cover sickness coz he’s very very important in job.
Luckily I have a good support network but what with Illness and Disney dads I’m mentally on edge Shock
