I keep to a routine which I’ve learned over the years makes everything more manageable. I get up at the same time every day. I always shower and dress and put on a little makeup even if I’m not going anywhere special. I exercise every day. I

I pay attention to what my body and mind are telling me - about needing to keep to myself for a bit to recharge or needing to find a way to express how I’m feeling.

And whilst I suspect this will get me a flaming - sometimes I do give myself a stern talking to about pulling myself together and stopping being a self-pitying schmuck. Once I allow myself to get into a slough of despond I start to dwell on things and it turns into a cycle of negative thinking. It really does help to give myself a metaphorical slap and remind myself I’m wallowing.
