5 year old sick 20+ times a day

I've posted in children's health but hoping for more traffic here.

DS suffered horribly with silent reflux as a baby. He gave up bottles at 13 weeks and screamed pretty much constantly. Once he was medicated under a paediatrician with omeprazole he improved. Despite massive issues with textures as he grew, things settled.

As he's got older, he's got markedly better. He's always suffered with what he calls "sick burps" but they've not bothered him. He's probably have a couple a day but he'd never mention them as he'd just swallow them down.
For the last month, he's been constantly sick after eating anything. I've cut down milk and fruit as Dr told me they were irritants, but it makes no difference what he eats. He will eat and within 10m start having sick regurgitating the moment he starts to move. It's now happening upwards of 25 times a day.
The doctor has prescribed liquid omeprazole as he couldn't keep the pills down (I'd dissolve them and within 5 minutes they'd come up with his sick) but there's been no improvement . At lunch today (ham wrap, pom bears and water) he was "sick" 14 times. He's just had dinner and we sat for 20m. As soon as he started moving g to play, he's been sick. Since 530 it's been 11 times and it's still coming up. Just small amounts of undigested food but unpleasant for him .
He's miserable. His throat hurts, his tummy aches, he's super emotional and clingy. I can't shake the feeling that there's something else going on.
Pee is clear so no kidney infection. I'm beside myself with worry
Does anyone have any ideas

Bumping for you.
Did he ever have a camera down to check his stomach?

Have you seen a paediatrician? I’d request an appointment with one and ask for a scope& ultrasound. The only other thing I’d check is if he’s coeliac, you could ask your gp to do blood test to check that, but don’t cut out gluten until you’ve had the test- if you do, you have to eat gluten again for at least 6 weeks before to get a result. DS had similar “sick burps” but went once he went gluten free.

My DS has suffered a lot with reflux and other problems.

Reflux can go away and come back.

However, it is worth investigating other things.

Aged 6 my DS had 10 months of daily severe stomach pains and sickness (though only once or twice a day, nothing like your poor DS) and eventually the gastro pediatrician said it was anxiety related and no longer reflux.

I took DS to my neurologist who diagnosed abdominal migraines. He has a daily preventative treatment and the difference is stunning.

He is still sick extremely easily (bad smell, slightly anxious, food that he doesn't like,...) but the migraines are under control and roughly only once a month.

Is there any history of migraine in the family?

I’d phone your GP and request an urgent referral to the paediatrician op, it’s not normal at all to vomit so much, he’s going to end up dehydrated.
If they do it urgently he should be seen in 2 weeks, unless you could see the GP and convince him to do a same day referral to paeds.

It could be a whole range of things causing this, which is why it needs to be investigated properly and be anything from reflux, to coeliac, to even things like anxiety.

Doesn’t sound fun for either of you, hope you get some answers soon Flowers
