If you could have any George Michael song included in your wedding service, what would it be and at what part would you have it?

We are having a humanist wedding and because I love George I want to include his music but I'm blanking on what to use and when.

Any suggestions?

I love his version of 'first time ever I saw your face', it's on the Songs from the last century album.

First dance maybe?

feelingverylazytoday · 11/02/2019 18:19

Wild is the wind. I love that song and he does one of the best versions.

WhiteWashGails · 11/02/2019 18:20

My favourite song of all time is by GM, and I think very appropriate for this!

‘As’ - with Mary J Blige. There version of th Stevie wonder song

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 11/02/2019 18:23

We had the orig Roberta Flak 'First time' as our first song... Saw the lovely GM in concert and he sang it. I might have cried Grin.

ImperfectTents · 11/02/2019 18:25

Club tropicana obvs! As you are says no your vows.

Grace212 · 11/02/2019 18:26

how about "Amazing"?

blinkywinky · 11/02/2019 19:01

Oh God Yes, I love his The fisrt time. Could I walk down aisle to that?

OP posts:
blinkywinky · 11/02/2019 19:02

I have to be careful as his music makes me cry almost always because he was my first live......fiance takes the piss because I love GM so much.

Grace212 · 11/02/2019 19:13

all proper people love GM Grin

yes, that for walking down the aisle and Amazing for....I dunno really ...are you having music on the way out? I just think Amazing would be a lovely happy one to include. It's def one of my favourites.

Daisywho · 11/02/2019 20:11

I’d have I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) - his duet with Aretha! Love George. Congrats OP, sounds like a fab wedding.

formerbabe · 11/02/2019 20:59

I knew you were waiting for me!

Love George Michael.

nowifi · 11/02/2019 21:02

I love spinning the wheel but don't think it's an appropriate wedding song! Love George! So many to choose from!

redeyetonowheregood · 11/02/2019 21:08

One of my fav GM songs is a duet with mutya Buena called 'this is not real love'... Probably not the best for a wedding though.

'If I told you that' with Whitney perhaps?
'I knew you were waiting' with Aretha?

White Light?

Grace212 · 11/02/2019 21:09

I love White Light but for a wedding?

I think my favourite is probably Flawless....actually I can't say that, too many favourites. Hope you can sneak them all into your playlist OP Grin

redeyetonowheregood · 11/02/2019 21:37

I find it a really uplifting moving song but true, Probably not for a wedding.

redeyetonowheregood · 11/02/2019 21:38

Flawless would be great though, I agree.

halfwitpicker · 11/02/2019 21:39

Too Funky obviously

DorothyZbornak · 11/02/2019 22:02

I like Faith but probably not for a wedding. Jesus to a child is nice, but you may not want that for a humanist wedding. (I'm not religious, I just like the song)

blinkywinky · 11/02/2019 22:07

I love the Terence Trent Darby cover too bit it's not for a wedding.

OP posts:
PussInBin20 · 11/02/2019 22:12

Careless Whisper is one of my all time faves but prob not appropriate for wedding as it's about cheating.

What about Outside? Just before your vows 😀

JaneJeffer · 11/02/2019 22:20

Wake me up before you go-go at the end to put everyone in a good mood.

Grace212 · 11/02/2019 22:34

this is turning into a fun challenge...

see if you can put Shoot the Dog in somewhere Grin

and will the venue allow a temporary spray painting for a glittery loo?!
