One more go before burning in fire - Chelsea FC - flags

BasiliskStare · 11/02/2019 15:56

I have here 4 chelsea football club flags in good condition ( the sort with the plastic handles but a decent size) - which might do a job at e.g. a birthday party or the like. Happy to post for free if anyone PMs , otherwise they will go in the bin. But genuinely free if anyone wants them.

Just one go before I bin them.

For the avoidance of doubt I am not that interested in football so any discussion re best teams etc - very happy if supporters of other teams think this is something I should burn in fire Grin

Majority decision - I am going to bin them - only asked as some little children like them - but thanks for replies - binning. Grin Charity shops Bombadier are increasingly particular as I find to the point where unless I have a car boot full of stuff they can look at it feels hard to take it round to them.

Anyway thanks all - will report back when binned Grin

Are you binning them because of yesterday's result op 😂
House of Chelsea fans here, all feeling bloody fed up after the match!
Don't think my dc would want them at the minute!

BasiliskStare · 11/02/2019 16:23

Ha ha @1happyhippie - no they were going before then. But then I remember DH ( married 24 years ) some twenty odd years ago turning up on the doorstep , wet , fed up & chelsea lost 5 - 0 .

It is ever thus - but also remember him turning up from Germany - hoarse when they won the European thing.

Sorry - I digress. No the flags aren't going because if the horror of v MC - they are going because I have a very very small house and my husband is going to be 58 next birthday. I have told him he does not need chelsea flags - and he said - give them to someone who would appreciate them. I may just dissemble and bin them & say I just gave them to charity. Actually there is a charity recycling bin round the corner , so true. Blush Grin

Burn or bin. MCFC fan here Wink

BasiliskStare · 11/02/2019 16:36

Oh @AquerosAngel - I do sort of get that , unfornately DH ( 57 - nearly 58 ) has been a Chelsea supporter since he was 4. So the lean years.

I have a plan - Tomorrow is bin collection day. I am going to leave them out on top of bin bags. If any one wants them they have all chance to take I do not follow football but even I know after last evening these things are very low in the scheme of things. The game last night was so bad for chelsea that my husband ( fervent supporter ) just said - I can't even be bothered to shout at the television. It is as bad as that. & then 20 mins later I asked him and he said " well we haven't conceded a goal for 20 mins so I suppose that's something "

Oh I should not laugh , but I do have to bite my lip and not say "it's only a game"

Ah we’ve been through the lean years with City, fighting relegation and getting battered week in week out.

We are a massive football family, all season ticket holders, and DH & I are fourth generation Blues and DS is fifth generation.

I did feel quite sorry for Sarri yesterday in his post match interview when they were asking him if he thought he was going to get sacked, it’s naughty that.

LunaAzul · 11/02/2019 16:52

Don’t bin them - maybe someone will want them for the Cup final a week on Sunday. Where there will be a repeat of yesterday’s result Wink

BasiliskStare · 11/02/2019 17:09

Ha ha @ AguerosAngel and @LunaAzul - I am not a great football supporter but DH is. So once ( we have been together about 30 years ) I said to him - well if Chelsea aren't doing too well why don't you choose another team to support. He looked at me as if I had landed from another planet & had 2 heads ( and I know he loves me I really do ) and just said in a low voice - That is not how it works Basilisk. This is my team & I have to go through all of this. When they were doing well - he was happy. But now not doing quite so well. He has supported them for more than 50 years - he is not going to change. Anyway the flag thing is not because of the score last night it is simply because of small house and no storage. - So yes probably best to bin. Grin

Oh sorry previous post also to @AguerosAngel - not sure it worked ! No matter - score won't change Grin - yes possibly better to just bin. Kon Mari girl would probably tell me the same Smile

Rookie error there @BasiliskStare I was brought up as a lifelong and devoted Arsenal supporter and will be one until I die. I could no more stop supporting them than I could voluntarily stop breathing Grin

That was a proper twatting that Chelsea got yesterday though...

BasiliskStare · 11/02/2019 17:49

@daredevil123 - you sound like my DH

& yes he would agree with you that Chelsea got a "proper twatting" ( is that a technical term) Grin But it won't stop him supporting them as it has not for 50 years. Ahhh he just supports the ones with the blue tops , come what may. Sometimes they are good and sometimes they are rubbish - but given he is 58 and started when he was 4 he ain't going to stop now. Unfortunately they just seem to be going through a rubbish bit. But over half a century - they have been more rubbish than now so DH will plod on with his hopefulness and support - Oh how very funny.
