HR Interview - presentation!!

Shamelessly looking for ideas for a 10 minute presentation I have to do in a second interview next week.

The brief is "anything you would like us to know" and it is for an HR position.

I would really really love to get this job, the company seems great and its a step up and an amazing opportunity.

I've worked in HR for 3 years in an admin position and halfway through my CIPD Level 5.

I've never had to do a presentation for an interview before... So does anybody have any hints or suggestions for topics or any advice at all??

Thanks 😊

Wow, that's a very open-ended title!

obvious tips:

  • stick to the time limit! theyve asked for 10 minutes - show you can deliver that. Do not go over!
  • dont try and cram too much in - remember you will be familiar with the content and have practiced lots - it will be new to them, so give them time to absorb it.
  • Don't have too many slides - 1 minute minimum per slide, aim for two (you dont want to read off the slides - they should be there to prompt you, help your audience remember the context, and display anything visually that might help - eg a flow chart if you were talking about a process you were involved in)

I have less to contribute on the content front, but think about what it is you want them to know. Make sure all your relevant experience and passion for the role (and company) shine through.
I would probably talk about your relevant experience and what you have learnt on the CIPD course that you would bring to the role. And why you think you would fit in well with the company, etc

start with an introduction even if it seems obvious - "Hi I'm Ragevibration and I'm going to talk about X. I'll start with outlining my experience Y that I think is relevant and then I'll explain why this is the right role for me" and finish with a summary - doesn't need to be more than a couple of sentences, but tidies it up nicely.

Good luck!
