I got a foot tattoo last week, just simple lines, no colour.
It's been healing well and I stuck to instructions. Last night it was very mildly itchy and this am tiny white bumps have appeared on some of the lines. From a distance it looks like gaps but I think it's just the skin healing?
Thanks

Can you post a photo?

No don't want to out myself!
They are like tiny raised white bumps. On close up looks like little bits of dry hard skin?

Usually bumps appear over the lines of a tattoo as it's the skin forming little scabs. Don't pick them. If you get itchy, just wash with unscented soap and lotion.

Im currently looking at my healing tattoo and what you describe is normal. My tattoo has white cracked like bits of skin. They fall off and leave normal black lines underneath. Also the itching is also normal but dont scratch it! I find it sometimes helps to hit the tattoo when the itching is really bad.

Thanks guys I'm pretty sure this is what it is. First tattoo so I'm a scaredy cat!

Sounds normal. Ive also found if you get a tattoo with mainly line work, if it has breaks once healed the artist will touch it up for free, after all it is their reputation that goes with the tattoo. Don't be afraid to ask the artist for advice.

I've messaged my artist yes. I'm pretty sure it's dry skin, tiny bits of scabbing etc. But can get a touch up free if need be.
I do love my tattoo I must say. A touch rebellious at my age, felt good!

Amazon sell a box kit of something called 'tattoo goo'. In you will get an antibacterial soap, a moisturiser and a balm for when you're all healed. It is brilliant.

If it helps I've had the white bumps on my sleeve but not anywhere else. All healed fine though and as has been said a touch up can always be done.

Incidentally, a foot tattoo in winter?! I did that once, walked round for a week feeling like I'd got frostbite. The other foot waited until summer 😂

I was told I could wear shoes as long as it's covered?!

Just keep it clean and keep using bepanthen or whatever the tattoo artist recommended. Try to avoid the area being rubbed (which can be tricky). Most artists will arrange for any touch ups to be done if any gaps appear once healed but I've never required this

My issue was I don't really own shoes, just boots, which rubbed. By the summer I invested in a pair of ballet flats for the second foot.
