DD1 has parents night tomorrow and DD2 has chicken pox... will I need to cancel?

As per the title. I have parents night tomorrow. School finishes at 3.15 and we have the first slot at 3.20. I need to take DD2 to collect DD1 as i have no one who can help me out. She'll be strapped in her pushchair anyway and we'll be outside the whole time for pick up so she shouldn't pose a risk to anyone.

I'm just wondering, will the parents evening need to be rescheduled or do you think I could potentially go if I keep DD2 strapped in the pushchair?

As I said, we have the first appointment so there won't be any waiting around if that makes sense.

You need to tell them.
You shouldn't take a child with CP into a school. Or out of the house tbh.

If you have nobody to help the best thing would be to keep the cover on the pushchair, pick up and run.
CP is spread by air and objects. The push chair will be contaminated.

Of course reschedule for gods sake!

Sorry, I've got my facts wrong here. I thought it was only spread by physical contact. I will reschedule. Thanks.

Reschedule - there may be people who can’t afford to be ill with things like chicken pox (I know at our school there are parents having chemo etc.. and having illness’ around can be really damaging.
You have to reschedule xx

dementedpixie · 10/02/2019 22:13

Chicken pox is airborne so I would reschedule

Gunpowder · 10/02/2019 22:23

I was told the rule of thumb was that chicken pox could spread through either direct touch, five minutes face to face or from being in the same room for 15 minutes - so the likelihood is that a 5 minute chat while DD stays in her buggy probably wouldn’t be an issue. That said, I’m sure they’ll be happy to reschedule and then there’s no risk to anyone. Smile

Definitely reschedule; I can rarely make parent’s evening because I work shifts, DD’s school have always been happy to see me at a different time. It’s not fair to potentially expose others to chicken pox nor to take your poxy child out.

Reschedule. It should be no problem at all to make an appt for another day.
