Is there no actual crime in Hertfordshire?

In my area, the police are so under-funded they have to prioritise which crimes they respond to and, even for violent and sexual crimes, the response can be slow and inadequate. And yet Hertfordshire Police are so well resourced they are sending officers to deal with Twitter spats???:

I’m in herts and we get plenty of burglaries

Violent crime is rare but I’m sure it happens

Then there domestic violence and teens being a pain. Low level social issues.

There is absolutely crime in Herts. There is plenty of other stuff the Hertfordshire Police could be working on than this utter shite.

Domestic violence and sexual crimes are mainly perpetrated against women though which places them at a lower priority than those whose needs are more important.

The police aren't there to deal with crime, their remit is to enforce social order through control and coercion.

There's plenty in Herts. More than enough. There was an article in the local press about the large number of unsolved burglaries in Welwyn only this week.

Violent crime unfortunately happens too, as it does everywhere.

I could list what’s happened in my area of Hertfordshire this weekend but it would put off anyone looking to move here.

3 officers to deal with this breastfeeding mother with a knowledge of biology. 3 officers?

ItIsCold · 10/02/2019 22:05

There seems to be no unsolved crime in Humberside, Norfolk, Suffolk, West Yorkshire or Greater Manchester either, they have lots of resources available to police public thoughts and male hurt feelings..

Maybe we should get a rebate from our police and crime tax contributions?

sackrifice · 10/02/2019 22:08

In this instance, I don't think the police realise that the upset person is a violent criminal.

Maelstrop · 10/02/2019 22:13

4 officers covering a population of over 100 000 yesterday.

ConferencePear · 10/02/2019 22:18

You can check the crime in your area by putting your postcode into

www.police.uk

The police aren't there to deal with crime, their remit is to enforce social order through control and coercion.

I wish more people understood this. For anyone to place any modicum of trust or hope in the police in this day and age is just laughable. Error after error, scandal after scandal. So much corruption it's not even funny.
