Why are people so shocked when I swear?

I am 27, and every time I swear, people(associates and people who know me well) say they "can't believe they are hearing you swear." Why? I'm an adult. What does this say about how I'm perceived?

People apologise to me when they swear. Grin But that's because I don't swear myself probably so they would be shocked if I did.

Not sure how I am perceived though.

Oh dear OP this thread will probably give it to you both barrels about how terrible swearing sounds 😂

I swear, and I don't think anyone is too shocked when I do. Least I don't notice or care if they do.

Dh tells me off if I swear in front on his DM. This is the woman that thinks twatter is ok on message (I do love my MIL!). He gets the fuck off face and sometimes I have to go so far as to verbalize that to him too Hmm
