On tonight’s call the midwife they are doing the first cervical smear tests. I’ve always said sir Vi cal and they are saying serve eye cal.

Who’s right?

I say 'servickle'

I presume it's regional, I'm in Staffordshire.

I say it your way but have heard the other way. Some pronunciations become more popular over time. I remember when "condom" just had the stress on the first syllable.
