Is there anything from another part of the UK that you wish that your area had?

It doesn't have to be food. It can be anything. What do you wish existed in your area?

I'm not that big a fan of roast dinners, I enjoy them just a few times of year but I wish that my area had the roast shops(I don't know what they're officially called) that they have in Yorkshire. I'd love to be able to get a turkey or roast pork roll with apple sauce or even better a bag of hot crackling pieces.

I'd also rather like to have a good fudge shop here.

And more second hand and new book shops. When I go to certain parts of England there are so many compared with her. Edinburgh and Wigtown aside. I love charity shops but it isn't quite the same.

Affordable housing. The coast. I like to see a mountain or mountains in the distance too.

Dickson's Savaloy Dips.

I love where my mil lives. There’s not as much traffic, she’s by the sea. Though she’s up north it’s colder.
I wish there was an open air museum like Beamish near us, I’d be there all the time.
We lack in theatres where we live, and our local cinema is s pile of steaming 💩

Reading this thread I realise how much I take where I live for granted. I’m in Glasgow, nice suburban area with great universities, schools , parks, wildlife and amazing food (especially square sausages and Stornaway black pudding from all the butchers). Live within looking distance of the Campsies too. 24 hr Tesco, 24 hr Asda, Aldi, Lidl Morrison’s. Can drive to a beach within an hour. I’m a lucky woman it seems but a Lido? No thanks. Even when the high temps hit last summer. That’s what beer gardens are for Smile.

Seaside, without a doubt.

A lovely sandy beach. Really tasty fish and chips. The sounds of the waves.

I love living in a big City for all its convenience, its diversity, its facilities, etc., but it would be nice to live by the sea.

I’m in London. I’d like a nice little mountain with ski slopes. Like Vancouver!

Craft beer bar instead of what feels like hundreds of chain pubs.

I live on the coast, very thankful. I would ask for proper seasons though, rather than just perma-Spring with the odd bit of snow and odd ‘taps-aff’ day per year. Weather like you see on Darling Buds of May would be nice!
An Ikea would be super, too.
We fare pretty well for food and drink and concerts, not that I can afford any of them.

Lucky in that we have lots to do on the doorstep. Pretty, fairly rural (South Warwickshire) but I crave the hills and the beach of my northern homeland! Oh, and a decent chippy too.

NC4Now · 10/02/2019 22:15

I’d like trams and a lido.

C0untDucku1a · 10/02/2019 22:18

Sun.

Nightlife.

pourmeanotherglass · 10/02/2019 22:22

A nice beach.

longtompot · 10/02/2019 22:32

I would love to have a dog friendly sandy beach just 10 minutes walk from here. Even a 30 min walk would be amazing damn these landlocked counties
