Acne and weight gain

Hi
I am 44 and have started suddenly to get cystic acne along my jawline. It's really painful and doesn't look great! I have very fair skin and the spots stay for ages. I have also put on about 10lb. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing it?

Yes it Went still get an occasional spot but seems to be linked to splurges on cake or chocolate or laziness in my cleansing routine 😌

Thanks! I went to the doctor and she thinks it is adult acne maybe caused by stress. Although to be fair I was eating 2 bowls of cocoa pops every day for dinner so it could be sugar. She has prescribed a benzoyl peroxide face wash so I will see how that goes
