Irregular periods 6 months after stopping pill injection

Hi, I’m 38 and last year I decided to give the depo a go. I had 2 injections and then by the time i was due for my 3rd injection in August I had put on a stone in weight (putting on weight is hard for me) I decided not to get my third injection due to worrying how much more weight I would put on.
During the injections my period was normal, every month it came along with the pain.
I had a period as normal in September then went 7wks without one, I had one in November and one in December. But since the new year I’ve had 3 already, all with no warning and no pain, I’m just bleeding but it’s heavier than normal!

Has anyone experience anything like this? I don’t think I was on the depo long enough to have an effect on me now but I may be wrong.

You were on it long enough, it's awful. Takes the body some time to adjust back to normal. I was on it 6 years, no periods at all. Took 10 months to start having very irregular periods after my last injection wore off
