Nintendo switch charging issue

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I purchased the switch at Christmas for my little boy and today it has stopped charging. When its plugged into the charger and i try to turn it on it flashes up the nintendo logo then turns off again.
If anyone has been through this or knows how to fix it or has any ideas at all the help would be appreciated.

My DH had some issues with his a year or so ago.
His first suggestion was hold power for 12 seconds and then release and then press again. That might reset it. If that doesn't work plug it into charge after that. If you see a charging logo then that should be fixed, if there is no charging logo then you will need to contact customer services. My husband's died completely and we had to replace it through Amazon, unfortunately that meant all the save data was lost.

Thanks for the help. I can get the nintendo screen to briefly flash up but i have no charging icon. Looks like i will need to contact nintendo.

Sounds like the same problem as my husband's. Its a known fault with the power distribution chip, although Nintendo are cagey at admitting to that!
