Time it takes to organise a children’s party

I’m doing some research on how much time it takes to plan a children’s party such as getting quotes from venues and suppliers, chasing invites, making food etc. Would you be willing to share your experiences please?

Half an hour researching anything new, two or three phone calls, emailed invitation backed up by cards handed out by ds, 2 hours baking & decorating a cake, 1 hour buying stuff for party bags, bits & bobs, 5 hours on the day.

So probably 9-10 hours total, including all the tidying up and making sure people get home. Add an hour if I’m doing the food as well.
