Hi, it's my first post although I have searched the forums a lot since my DD (23 months) was born. She's currently poorly with a bad cough and cold but has been poorly on and off since before Xmas with maybe a week at most or a few days gap between the different ailments. Usually a cold and/or cough and also our first eye infection. Everything I read suggests that it's normal in a growing immune system but I wonder how many illnesses is normal? NHS says average of 8 a year - I feel like she may have had 4 or 5 separate bouts of colds in the last 8 weeks. DD got sepsis from a UTI just before she was a year old and we were in hospital a week - so every time she is ill I immediately think the worst and end up at the doctor who invariably says it's a virus and sends me away. When she had sepsis I was sent away from docs and A&E with the same virus diagnosis, so I'm often reluctant to accept it. I suppose what I'm asking is, have any of your children seemed to suffer from an endless stream of minor illness and gone on to be robust, healthy kids. I'm hoping there is an end in sight. 😞 Thanks in advance.
