If you need to grab everyone's attention quickly, at home or at school, what's your favourite method? Do you clap briskly, shout "listen up", bang on the table, or blow a whistle, like umpires (and some teachers) do? Or using a megaphone, like the mum did in the programme "the Wild House"?
I've been known to shout "listen up" on behalf of our unassertive choir director, who doesn't have the knack of getting the choir's attention when he needs it; he weakly claps, plays a chord on the piano, or timidly asks for attention. (And this is a choir of adults; the reason they don't pay attention is because he waffles very slowly when he wants to give an important notice.)
