Is this waste of GP time

2 weeks ago collected my repeat script and a note was attached make appt for blood test. I phoned but was told no nurse appts for 2 mths however they would print labels and i could get it done at the hospital. I duly went to collect the labels only to be told they couldn't print them as it wasnt on the system what blood tests were needed and they would check with the doctor. Since then i have phoned every day but they keep saying doctor hasnt clarified their query. The only way i can see to break the stalemate is to book to see the gp but feels like such a waste their time. But doctor wanted bloods doing before issuing new repeat but cant arrange to get it done !

How disorganised! It will likely be connected to your meds...eg thyroid tests for thyroxine.

I would email or drop a note at the surgery asking to collect a blood form after two working days.

Try to get a phone appointment with one of the GPs instead of a physical one, they won't need to see you to confirm what was needed.

Their phone appts are between 12 and 2 rather than a set time and i work full time and not always at my desk to take a call

Ask to speak to the practice manager.
