Indestructible girls school shoes.

Because not so dd has annhilated yet another pair of school shoes. In half a term fgs. Mainly because she is very much someone who is very active at playtime, plays football and generally uses her shoes as brakes.

And she has adult size 6 feet despite being 9 years old. She doesn't want any of the Mary-Jane style shoes as in her own words 'my feet get wet when I play football'. It's a pair of kickers shoes she has destroyed as well which are generally a bit more robust.

Aaaaaaaaaargh

Dms

PlayingForKittens · 09/02/2019 11:21

Mine has "boys" hush puppies with the bumpers at the toes.

Iggly · 09/02/2019 11:22

Geox have survived my ds playing all sorts - he never sits still! (He’s 9).

Alternatively can you ask school if she can change shoes at playtime?

FannyBueneyUndertheknide · 09/02/2019 11:24

I always used to buy my DDs shoes from the boys section of the shoe shop- I found it infuriating that the shoes made for girls weren't adequately made for running, climbing etc, whereas those made for boys would last much longer and allowed for more natural movement

WrongKindOfFace · 09/02/2019 11:25

I wa going to suggest DMs as well.

WrongKindOfFace · 09/02/2019 11:26

Although if she’s a six she’d need adult ones which are pretty dear.

DropZoneOne · 09/02/2019 11:27

I've just bought my DDs shoes from the boys section too. Proper robust shoes that cover her feet and have a thick grippy sole. Her last pair of girls shoes lasted 8 weeks.

AuditAngel · 09/02/2019 11:31

My DD also killed a pair of kickers in half a term, the patent is coming off and they leak. She is still wearing them.

Fazackerley · 09/02/2019 11:33

She might only need a 5, they come up pretty big

MissMarplesKnitting · 09/02/2019 11:37

Try treads.

Their shoes come with a one year guarantee.

TriSkiRun99 · 09/02/2019 11:38

Geox maybe more robust. But I feel you pain, I’ve given up buying expensive shoes for my strong DD (accept I’ve got to buy 3-4 cheaper pairs) & tried M&S school shoes & suprisingly they have lasted Sept-Feb but will need replacing soon. Last summer term she just had black trainers as I was fed up of “girliee” shoes just falling apart & she refusehed to wear “boys” ones 🙄

Bryjam · 09/02/2019 11:38

Treads ate worth a try.

DM's are great but they take some careful breaking in so maybe not ideal for a 'need shows now' situation.

sharksonmyswimsuit · 09/02/2019 11:58

These are a pair of boys kickers she has trashed. Unfortunately she isn't allowed to wear trainer style school shoes in school- they have to look like shoes.

1 year guarantee on school shoes- dd will test that to the limit!

Or trainers, black trainers

Fazackerley · 09/02/2019 12:45

Sorry!

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 09/02/2019 12:47

Ricosta - they do "boys" style/shape shoes but in shiny patent leather with flowers on.

Purplefrogshoes · 09/02/2019 12:48

Definitely Dr martens! My DD has destroyed every other pair of shoes within weeks but since I bought Dr martens they last the full school year

unicornsrule · 09/02/2019 12:52

My 13 year old has leather next school shoes
Dd age 10 has parent Clark's both wear well

unicornsrule · 09/02/2019 12:53

13 year old is adult size 4 age 10 dd size 2

Tinty · 09/02/2019 13:01

I complained in Clarks that a pair of shoes my DD had were destroyed after half a term. They said they expect them to last 6 - 8 weeks Shock. At £40 a pair!

Makinglists · 09/02/2019 13:01

start rite rhino - sherman are good shoes. They are sold as boys laceups but who cares. DS1 wore them in the last few years of Primary and each pair just about managed a year of heavy break time football playing on concrete, and daily walk to school - for Ds1 clarks shoes lasted a term if you were lucky.
